The Vision, Wine Shoe’s vision, actually centers around taste. The taste of wine. Sounds simple but it is actually somewhat rare that wine education starts with the taste. Most begin with boring lectures about regions, rules, grapes, and so on. Genealogy is also a very popular topic. Is this information good? Yes, but does it help you find a bottle of wine you like?
Wine Shoe was born of a lifestyle concept mixing the best of the neighborhood with the best of Nora and Shannon’s world travels. The shop has the feel of a private wine cellar in Italy stocked with wines from all over the world. Most prices are surprisingly artist friendly with a scattering of high priced labels. No matter the price, they are all hand picked gems.
Wine Shoe was build from a green perspective. Much of the materials are recycled and the floor was finished in a completely environmental friendly manner. One highlight of the build was obtaining the over-sized maple doors from Habitat for Humanity’s ReStore. We were nominated for the Atlanta Downtown Design Excellence Award in 2009. Check us out!
Wine Shoe is perfectly situated in Castleberry Hill Landmark Historic District located just a short walk south of CNN and downtown Atlanta. An eclectic mix of artists, business people, young entrepreneurs, and working class folks, historic Castleberry Hill represents the new urban spirit of in town living. With its mix of young and old, modern and antique, hip and historic–Castleberry Hill is the place to play, work and live.
Please come by to see–and taste–for yourself.
